MY ROLE

For my Integrated Strategic Communications class, we were assigned an applied project to learn how to create a variety of strategic communication pieces to support a client's campaign. We were given a case study to learn about the client and their needs.

CHALLENGE

While many of us acknowledge physical suffering and are comfortable seeking out help, many more of us may suffer emotionally, for which we almost never reach out for help.

OBJECTIVE

Develop a public relations campaign that supports the goal of our client the Campaign to Change Direction, which is to change the culture of mental health in America so everyone in need can receive the help they deserve.

APPLIED PROJECT-THE PROCESS

1. Conduct secondary research on the issue, the target audience and the situation.

2. Understand the client needs and case parameters.

3. Develop a campaign brief to outline the strategy that will support the campaign goals. Include the tactics that will be used to reach the target audience.

4. Execute tactics by creating a variety of communication pieces, including a press release, PSA, flyer, and social media campaign.
