MY ROLE

For my International Marketing class, we were assigned a group project in which we analyzed a multinational market region and created a marketing/sales strategy to launch a product chosen by the class in that same multinational market region.

CHALLENGE

The product selected by the class was Stasher bags, reusable silicone bags that can store food and other items. The region my group was assigned was EMEA, which stands for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

OBJECTIVE

The finally selected product (Stasher bags) was launched as if each group were part of a global corporation, requesting the funds for their launch project. The objective is to have the best pitch in order to receive the funds and launch the product in your region.

APPLIED PROJECT-THE PROCESS

PHASE 1-Region Analysis

1. Determine which macroeconomic aspects (political, economic, social, technological, environmental, legal) should be considered when determining the country to launch in.

2. Weigh each variable and use a multi-criterion table in excel. Poland was the number one country according to our analysis. Create a deck to present findings to class.

PHASE II-Product-Specific Research

1. Perform a more specific product analysis by adding more variables specific to the product and industry to our analysis. Some of these new variables include annual income spent on food, food sustainability index and plastic pollution per country.

2. After including these additional variables into our analysis, the highest ranking country was Russia.

PHASE III-Creating a Marketing/Sales Plan

1. Use the region and product specific research to create a marketing and sales plan to enter Russia and other countries within the region. Consider country prioritization, entry strategy per country, and marketing strategy and plan for a final 5-year business plan. 2. Create deck to present findings.

RESULTS

Our presentation was voted the best presentation by the class. We were given an A on the project.
