MY ROLE

I am the Public Relations Coordinator for SLU Special Olympics. In this position, I am in charge of managing three social media accounts and crafting weekly email communications.

CHALLENGE

There are 800+ students signed up for the club at the moment and is continuing to grow rapidly. 

OBJECTIVE

Create a PR strategy to increase membership and participation from members already in the club. 

PR STRATEGY-THE PROCESS

1. Create a brand guide to reference for all PR activity.

2. Redesign Mailchimp email campaign to adhere to brand guidelines and be more user friendly. Send weekly e-newsletters to members.

3. Compose a social media calendar and produce all content. Post twice weekly on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

RESULTS

Since starting as the PR chairman in spring 2019, I have driven a 14% increase in club membership with my PR strategy.
